Travel Suitcase
Product & System Design

A suitcase designed around structure, clarity, and a simple travel system.
This project was part of my System Design course, where I explored how different travel products can work together as a coordinated setup. I focused on the shape, proportions, and components of a hard shell suitcase, and how these details improve usability during everyday travel

My initial sketches were focused on the overall volume of the suitcase and the placement of key elements like the handle, wheel units, and panel breaks. I tried different ideas for the outer shell and the signature K-shaped form that later became the main identity of the product. These sketches helped me plan the structure before moving into 3D work.

While developing the form, I paid attention to how the handle mechanism, wheels, and outer shell come together as a system. I worked on clean panel divisions, a reinforced corner structure, and a surface language that stays consistent across all bags in the Kinetik family. The K-shaped form acts as the visual anchor and guides the geometry across the product.

The final renders show the overall character of the suitcase. The textures, corner detailing, and surface transitions highlight how the bag holds its shape. Close-up shots capture the wheel design, handle grip, and zipper detailing. The lighting helps show the K-mark and how it becomes part of the structure instead of just a graphic element.

Working on Kinetik helped me understand system design in a more practical way. It taught me how individual components affect the overall experience and how consistency in form & CMF can connect different products in a family.
