Grass Cutter
Power Tools Design

A compact grass cutter designed for better control and reduced strain.
This project aimed at designing a lightweight and efficient grass cutter that's easier to handle for long durations. The focus was on ergonomics, balance, and usability. It is meant for users who need to cover large areas without lifting heavy equipment or getting fatigued quickly.

My early sketches were focused on basic form exploration. I looked at different motor placements, shaft lengths, handle types, and safety covers. These helped me figure out how to reduce weight without compromising strength, and how to align the product’s proportions for ease of use.
The main design goal was to reduce physical effort while maintaining control. I added an adjustable shaft so users of different heights could work comfortably. The double handle design gives better grip and balance. I kept the motor housing compact with side vents to allow heat dissipation. The cutting head was placed close to the ground with a sturdy guard to keep the user safe without blocking visibility.

The renders show how the final product looks and feels in an outdoor setting. The red-black casing adds contrast and visual clarity in grassy areas. Scratches and wear were added to reflect usage. The shaft slots, handle geometry, and vent placements were all tuned to improve usability without adding unnecessary bulk.
